Two Travel Articles from The Boston Globe

Hello!

I'm glad my invitation to blog on the SLA 2006 Conference Blog came today. A few days ago, one of my Boston area colleagues let us know about two articles about Baltimore in the Travel section of The Boston Globe: A read on Baltimore: A literary trail worth the legwork and Baltimore itinerary. The first talks about the literary history of Baltimore. The second gives some information about restaurants and things to do in the city. I was worried the links might expire before I could share them with the greater SLA conference-going community.

I'm so excited to have received an invitation to blog in this space again. Hopefully this year, I won't do something that will impair my ability to use a computer so I'll actually be able to write more about the conference. I am planning to attend the conference from Saturday through Thursday. I'll be taking notes for the SLA News Division and blogging on the News Division blog NewsliBlog and my own blog j's scratchpad, as well as reporting in this space.

I've been attending SLA Annual Conferences since Philadelphia in 2000. I'm a very active member of the News Division. I also belong to the Solo Division and the Boston Chapter. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to network with colleagues, immerse myself in special librarianship for a few days, and get inspired by all the fabulousness that is the SLA Annual Conference.

I hope to see you there!
